Daikin Industries, Ltd. establishes the Technology and Innovation Center (TIC) as the core base for technology development of the Daikin Group.
Behind the establishment of the TIC was a sense of crisis. Unless we continued leading technological innovation in this rapidly changing business environment, we could not hope to further accelerate our global business expansion and sustain development in the future as a manufacturer.
At the heart of development that generates technology innovation stands collaborative creation, which utilizes partnerships and alliances with companies, universities, and research organizations with technology in different fields and industries for a fusion of technologies to create new value.
In establishing TIC, we aim to attain the world's No.1 technological capabilities through collaborative innovation and fulfill our mission regarding both monozukuri, providing goods, and kotozukuri, providing experiences though the creation of new value for customers and society.
To this end, we will work to broaden our business domains beyond air-conditioning equipment and fluorochemicals, which are Daikin strengths, to residential living spaces, communities, cities, and infrastructure. We intend to create trends in global technologies through the fusion of such fields as nanotechnology, life science, and advanced functional materials while incorporating human physiology and psychology as they relate to air environments and the human body.
About 700 engineers have been assigned to the TIC. Here we will build a workplace culture where highly-ambitious employees pursue dreams and exciting challenges in demonstrating their infinite potential to create the future.
